Even lost flowers wait in hope,
for the light of day when they'll bloom!
So we shall become beautiful flowers, that look like a dream!

MINI DOCUMENTARY

During this project, the main idea was climate change and it's ties with the industrial revolution. Each group was assigned 2 keywords, which they needed to cover in their brief film. Our words were "Carbon Footprint" and "Our Atmosphere".

From this activity, I learned about how crucial teamwork is in an assignment. It was really difficult to finish this, due to how much pressure was on teamwork and the poor teamwork we had. I crammed most in the last week of the multiple week assignment, and it ended up not being as good as I'd like it to be.

Blog posts

In this assignment, we were given weekly reflections to complete based on how our group work in our large documentary project was going. There would be questions assigned, and we would be required to complete them by the end of the week.

The questions really gave me a lot of time to do some reflection. Was I truly happy with where we were on the project? Truth be told, the answer was most of the time, no. It allowed me to look deeper into my feelings; what could I change? Do I have any solutions, are my problems too large, or even too insignificant? I definitely ended up coming to my group with some things I got from the blog posts, so overall they were very helpful for me.

FINAL DOCUMENTARY

This was our final project of the semester. We were supposed to make a 5-7 minute film, with shots and script all produced by us. The theme was about the effect of climate change on one specific part of the world. Our group focused on the ocean, and I truly think our final film is going to be beautiful.

This project taught me a lot. I'd say it's the thing I learned the most about this semester. Working on a film with 10 people is hard. It's really hard. That's what made it crucial to work together as best as we could. I'm not going to lie, I gave up a few times. I felt like the film was completely out of my hands, and I couldn't have any power over it. I did get through those times though, and I had to power through for the better of the team.

ARE: Double Slit Experiment

In physics, we did an assignment called an ARE. This was when we analyzed the text for information, and show what we learned about it. One of the questions was also about whether this information could be trusted or not, which was a good idea for us to get thinking.

I chose the double slit experiment as my ARE I want to show. The first time I read this article, I sat down and felt like a million things had just been shoved into my brain at once. After completing the ARE and the seminar, I truly felt like my understanding improved a ton. I think that if I had just sat down and attempted to read the article over and over again, nothing would've actually gotten to my brain. Both the other AREs made me have the same realization too. With things I don't know, it was helpful to write about them to get a more rich understanding.

Reflection journal

The reflection journal was a place where, every Friday, a question would be written up on the board, always prompting reflections on this weeks work. They would always push for ahead and backwards thinking, so we can realize what we did wrong and what to change.

The reflections were honestly very relaxing. I think they did help me out with improving myself, which is something I say about every reflection, but is undoubtedly true. They really give you a chance to look back at yourself, and see how clearly you can now see the mistakes you made.

FINAL gearbox

This was our other final project of the semester. This was also what I think the most difficult assignment was of the semester. We had to make a gearbox, which is to be displayed in a window or a teacher of our choosing's room for the next four years. It had to be exemplifying one if the principles of physics we learned this year. This sounds easy enough, but trust me, it wasn't.

The gear took a LOT of trial and failure. By a lot, I mean by the time some groups were finishing, we were still making design modifications. Nothing seemed to work for us

For our math portfolio we had to make a summary of learning. This showed what we learned over the course of the work. It had to be artistic and neat.

This project was actually fun. It let me be creative, and helped me organize everything I learned.
